As young people mature, the decisions they make have an enormous impact on their families, their communities and our world. But growing up surrounded by poverty, war or in the aftermath of disaster increases their risks and limits their choices.
That’s why giving children and youth the right support at the most critical time is essential to building tomorrow’s strong, productive communities.
When disaster strikes, young children are especially vulnerable to developing emotional and social problems that can jeopardize their future. Raising Hope of African Child-Uganda works with experts to design Programs that helps children process their trauma and recover through play, sports and art activities.
For adolescents faced with violence, early marriage and interruptions to schooling, we provide opportunities for community involvement, vocational training and life skills development. Our goal is to empower youths in the toughest places to make smart life choices and invest their energy in developing solutions to their communities’ biggest challenges.
The increasing trend of young marriages, unemployment, and urbanisation, have come with costs such as poor housing, poor sanitation, unemployment, landlesness, drug addiction, domestic violence, child neglect, family breakdown, suicide in worst case. All these social problems have made children bear the burden of general deprivation, Isolation, reject, lack of parental care, love & affection, denial of share of family properties. We found it critical to offer free career guidance in schools, counselling and guidance services, at schools and homes & families, in hospitals thus to patients and even at our offices we have experienced Counselors who offer these services for free to those in need on designated days of the week.
